MEET OUR STAFF!

Tim Brown
M.Div, NOOAI, SCG, RNG
Senior Pastor
Tim has been the Pastor of Blythe Island Baptist Church since June 2001 and holds a Masters of Divinity with a evangelism and missions emphasis from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his incredibly talented wife, Julie, came to us from California as a young family of five. Jonathan, now 34; Christopher, now 32; and Preston, now 26, are all grown up and on their own amazing life journeys. Tim and Julie have two precious grandchildren, Arthur and Holly, they love to spoil (I know they are too young to be grandparents…). Pastor Tim is and always has been a strong advocate of marriage and of family, which tends to be a cornerstone in a number of his teachings. He loves to cook, rappel, ski, throw pottery, carve characters out of wood and stone and you will often find Tim and Julie riding their motorcycle across the country.
In addition to being the fulltime Senior Pastor at BIBC, Pastor Tim is an integral part of the CISM team for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, as well as, serving as the Chaplain for the Brunswick and Glynn County Police and Fire Departments for the last 25 years. He is responsible for the spiritual and emotional well-being of hundreds of officers and public servants throughout Glynn County. Crisis counseling is truly a labor of love for him and teaching others the art of mastering tragic circumstances is a daily victory for him. Pastor Tim is the Founder and the Coordinator of the Southeast Georgia Crisis Response Team and is also the CEO is the Crisis Responders Network, LLC.
In 2001, when Pastor Tim came to (June 6th the day we invaded) Blythe Island Baptist, BIBC was a small congregation, in a small church, doing some small things. Since Pastor Time has been here, BIBC has built a new church, grown a full youth and children’s program, participated and spearheaded many community projects to assist and improve the community and has become an essential member in local law enforcement and Fire Suppression communities.
Pastor Tim also holds over 25 specialized certifications in various crisis intervention areas such as: The International Critical Incident Foundation and the International Suicide Foundation.
Even though he is consistently busy within the community his family and his church family always come first and he is in his office daily offering spiritual leadership and guidance to all that need it.

Stephanie Pyles
Worship Leader
Stephanie has been on staff as our worship leader since April, 2022. She graduated from a ministry internship at Emerge Leadership Academy in Destin, FL in 2017 and interned here at Blythe Island Baptist in 2019.
She loves leading worship that is authentic, Spirit-led, and centered on Jesus. Her heart is to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or you’re just beginning to ask questions.
Stephanie has been married to her husband Mason for two years, and together they love sneaking away to the mountains, wandering through antique shops, and coming home to their dog, Cash. When she’s not at church, you’ll likely find her baking sourdough, perfecting her recipe, or sipping on a Dr Pepper Zero. She feels incredibly grateful to serve her church family and be part of what God is doing in this community.
