Pastor Tim Brown is not an “average” leader; he is an “exceptionally special leader”.
He has been the Pastor of Blythe Island Baptist Church since June 2001 and holds a Masters in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his incredibly talented wife, Julie, came to us from California as a young family of five. Jonathan, now 30; Christopher, now 28; and Preston, now 22, are all grown up and on their own amazing life journeys. In fact, the first Brown grandchild is due in December. Pastor Tim is and always has been a strong advocate of marriage and of family, which tends to be a cornerstone in a number of his teachings.
In addition to being the fulltime Senior Pastor at BIBC, Pastor Tim is an integral part of the CISM team for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, as well as, serving as the Chaplain for the Glynn County and Brunswick Police and Fire Departments for the last 19 years. He is responsible for the spiritual and emotional well-being of hundreds of officers and public servants throughout Glynn County. Crisis counseling is truly a labor of love for him and teaching others the art of mastering tragic circumstances is a daily victory for him. Pastor Tim is the Founder and the Coordinator of the Southeast Georgia Crisis Response Team and is also the CEO is the Crisis Responders Network, LLC.
In 2001, when Pastor Tim came to Blythe Island Baptist, BIBC was a small congregation, in a small church, doing some small things. Since Pastor Time has been here, BIBC has built a new church that holds 450+ members, grown a full youth and children’s program, participated and spearheaded many community projects to assist and improve the community and become an active member in local law enforcement.
Pastor Tim also holds over 20 specialized certifications in various crisis intervention areas such as: The International Critical Incident Foundation and the International Suicide Foundation. Even though he is consistently busy within the community his family and his church family always come first and he is in his office daily offering spiritual leadership and guidance to all that need it – which makes him an “exceptionally special leader”.
