Our vision, mission and strategy are based on truths found in the word of God for His Church. These three work together, like a three-fold cord, in propelling us forward. We believe God’s vision, mission and strategy for His church also mirrors His vision, mission and strategy for our personal lives as well. Therefore, everything we do is with the intent of leading people to experience a God-First Life.

Vision

The Great Commission
Jesus gave us the vision for His Church, also known as the Great Commission:

“Therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you, always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20

Mission

Blythe Island Baptist Church exists to reach people with God’s gospel, build them as his church, and release his church into the world. At BIBC, our desire is to see the earth filled with the glory of God as men and women become more like Jesus. God’s word spreads as Christians take to the world the good news of who Jesus is, what he has done, and how we are to live. We believe that there is no corner of the earth and no aspect of our lives that is not affected and transformed by this news!

HOW WE DO IT

OUR PURPOSE is to reach people far from God teach them about Jesus so they can reach people far from God and teach them about Jesus.

FOUND PEOPLE FIND PEOPLE. We’ve found out something that will change everyone’s life forever and we’re ready to tell the world! First, we reach out to those who do not have a local church.  We encourage people to invite their friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to attend BIBC so that they will hear and understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  Second, we reach out individually with the truth of what God has done for us personally and bring people to a relationship with God. The very last thing that Jesus said before he left earth was to go into all the world and share the good news with others. INVITE SOMEONE.

GROWING PEOPLE CHANGE. We believe growing people change. Wherever you are in life, whatever is going on, you will always have a next step to take as you grow. What’s your next step? Is it partnering with BIBC? Baptism? Or perhaps it’s to be a part of the BIBC community. In a world where you are beaten down daily, people need a refuge where they can feel safe as they heal their wounds.  They also need a place where they can find friends to build them up and keep them accountable.  God designed us to do life together in community. At BIBC, we desire to see each person fully engaged and plugged into a community where they have meaningful friendships, accountability, and support. This can be done through participating in Life Groups, joining a serving team and/or attending events. TAKE YOUR NEXT STEP.

SAVED PEOPLE SERVE PEOPLE. Served people turn into saved people when saved people are willing to serve people. Life was meant to be enjoyed in the context of community. When we participate with others in serving, we build strong relationships while growing together in our walk with God. Secondly, we serve together because, no one person can single-handedly move the vision of The Church forward. BIBC is a family of believers, and our church is not built on the gifts and talents of a few, but on the sacrifice and service of many. SERVING OPPORTUNITIES.

YOU CAN’T OUT-GIVE GOD. We believe the top competitor for our devotion to Jesus is money (Matthew 6:24). Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. We believe you can’t outgive God, so when you’re trusting Him with your tithes and offerings we know that He will bless the rest (Proverbs 3:9-10 and Malachi 3:10-12). We think Christians should be the most generous people (2 Corinthians 9:6) on earth to support worthy causes, and there is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church (Ephesians 3:10)! TAKE THE 90 DAY TITHE CHALLENGE.

YOU CAN’T DO LIFE ALONE. One of the best things about being plugged in and a part of your local church family is you don’t have to walk through anything alone! Groups meet regularly throughout the year, and are the perfect way to take personal growth and relationship building beyond Sunday gatherings. Groups are people taking next steps together. Join a Group and you’ll learn why we believe you can’t do life alone. Join or start a group of your own today!
